Redistricting Commission Approves New Maps

The Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission just voted to approve the new congressional maps. I am excited to be the first and only candidate announced for the new 7th Congressional District.

The new 7th District includes my entire State Senate district and I already represent nearly half of the new 7th, which includes all of Eaton, Clinton, Ingham, Shiawassee, and Livingston counties, as well as small pieces of Genesee and Oakland counties.

This seat is very competitive for Republicans and I know that we will be able to flip it red and help win a House Majority. I’ve run against some very tough, well-funded Democrats in each election. In 2014, I defeated an incumbent Democrat State Rep., and prevailed against her in a 2016 rematch. In 2018, I faced one of the best-funded Democrats in the state and was able to win by 10 percentage points. I ran ahead of Rick Snyder in 2014 and Gretchen Whitmer in 2018.
